One of the themes of the 3Oceans blog is discussing new properties on the market. There are a couple of interesting new listings in Mountain View that exemplify the diversity of neighborhoods and electic architectural styles to be found in the city.
First up on our virtual tour is
540 Pettis Avenue, a 2 bedroom, one bathroom cottage listed by Alain Pinel’s downtown Mountain View heavyweights Chuck and Tori Atwell. This charmer has an updated kitchen, hardwood floors, and boasts a nearly four car garage in the back yard arranged 2×2 tandem style. Located a couple of blocks North of Shoreline, this home is about a 10 min walk from popular
Castro Street, which is one of its greatest selling points.
Listed at $868,000 for a 1074 square foot home on a 6500 square foot lot, this property will likely join the ranks of Mountain View homes selling for over asking price with multiple offers.
On the other side of Castro is 414 A&B West Dana Street, two houses listed together by Leslie Ballesteros of Coldwell Banker. These come as a package set. Unit A is a 1925 Craftsman style with two bedrooms and one bath. It is very updated, while preserving the original architectural details. As my touring companion opined, “it’s cuter than a bug’s ear!”. I assume that was a compliment . . .
414B is more the “before” to Unit A’s “after”. Very original, with original beadboard wainscoating and windows, it reminded me of a beach cottage somewhere. A great rental or in-law unit, it’s cute now, and with a little remodeling and updating could be really something.
Both come on a shared 11,300 square foot lot, and as a packaged set for $1,450,000. Act now, supplies are limited . . .
Third and final on today’s virtual mini-tour is 1224 Miramonte Avenue. This Eichler style home makes up for it’s location on a busy street with a typical courtyard out front. As you pull up, your initial view is a garage door and fence. Don’t be put off, and enter through the gate to a private courtyard that leads into the entry of the home. Everything in this house is updated, modern and fresh. The granite counters, cherry cabinets and modern lighting really complement the Eichler style, and the living room’s vaulted ceiling and glass wall surrounding the fireplace display the backyard gardens beautifully. Eichler specialist, Nil Erdal from Coldwell Banker did a great job staging this home, and she will have a busy weekend, as I expect her open house to be mobbed. Priced at $1,099,000 it’s a great home if you don’t mind morning traffic.
That’s all the Mountain View real estate news for now. Thanks for reading.
